Affordable Education, Free Digital Textbooks, Refund of Educational Fees, and a Research-Based Learning System for All
Sunday Special Article — November 1, 2026
Education Should Reduce the Burden, Not Increase It
.Globe University Affordable Education is a research-oriented initiative designed to reduce students’ financial burdens through digital textbooks, practical learning, environmental protection, and a proposed educational fee-refund system. Education is the foundation of human progress, economic development, and social prosperity. Yet millions of students face increasing educational expenses, lengthy textbooks, transportation costs, accommodation charges, and other financial difficulties.
For many families, the cost of higher education has become a serious obstacle. Even students who successfully complete their education may face financial pressure before beginning their professional careers.
In an age of artificial intelligence, digital technology, and global communication, an important question deserves attention:
Can we develop an education system that provides useful knowledge, reduces unnecessary expenses, saves time, protects the environment, and returns most of the students’ deposited educational fees after graduation?
Globe University (GU) is exploring this possibility through a new, research-oriented educational model.
Its mission is not merely to provide online education but to investigate how education itself can become simpler, more affordable, practical, and beneficial to humanity.
1. Globe University: A Research-Oriented Educational Initiative
Globe University is a developing educational initiative dedicated to exploring improvements in the traditional education system.
GU believes that educational institutions should continuously examine their teaching methods, curricula, expenses, and learning outcomes.
Its research-oriented approach seeks answers to several important questions.
Can students obtain essential knowledge from fewer, better-organized textbooks? Can artificial intelligence improve independent learning? Can educational expenses be reduced without sacrificing quality? Can digital education help protect natural resources?
Most importantly, can an educational institution operate on actual expenses and return the remaining deposited fees to students upon successful completion of their studies?
These questions form the foundation of GU’s proposed educational system.
2. A Unique Financial Concept: Refund of Educational Fees After Graduation
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of Globe University’s educational vision is its proposed refund of deposited educational fees at the time of graduation.
Under this model, students would deposit the prescribed educational fees during their three-year BBA program, consisting of six semesters.
After successfully completing the sixth and final semester, at the time of awarding the degree or completion credential, the student would receive a refund of the total educational fees deposited, after deduction of the actual expenses incurred by GU in providing the educational services.
This means that GU aims to retain only the real expenses necessary to operate its educational system, rather than treating the entire amount collected from students as non-refundable revenue.
For example, suppose a student deposits Rs. 12,000 during six semesters and the university’s actual attributable educational expenses amount to Rs. 2,000. Under the proposed model, Rs. 10,000 would be refunded after successful completion.
These amounts are illustrative and do not represent confirmed fees, costs, or guaranteed refunds.
The proposed model offers several potential benefits. It could reduce the ultimate financial burden on families, encourage students to complete their education, and promote transparency in educational spending.
The concept is particularly important for students from lower- and middle-income families.
GU’s objective is simple:
Students should ultimately pay for the actual cost of their education, not unnecessary institutional expenses.
This refund policy remains a proposed model. Its implementation will require sufficient funding, transparent expense calculations, financial sustainability, and formally published terms. No refund should be considered guaranteed until the policy is formally established.
GU invites educators, economists, financial experts, and philanthropists to help develop a sustainable framework for this initiative.
3. Reducing the Burden of Books: One Complete Textbook for a Semester
Another important educational experiment at Globe University is reducing the unnecessary burden of textbooks.
Traditionally, students may need several separate books, guides, reference materials, and supplementary notes for a single semester.
GU is investigating whether carefully selected, complete, and useful educational material can be compiled into one organized textbook without sacrificing essential knowledge.
To demonstrate this approach, GU has developed its first comprehensive BBA Semester 1 textbook with the assistance of artificial intelligence.
BBA Semester 1 — Complete Book
The book combines five important subjects:
- Introduction to Business
- Principles of Management
- Business Mathematics
- Business Communication
- Fundamentals of Accounting
It also includes practical material on the use of artificial intelligence in business administration.
This book has been specially designed and compiled for Globe University students. Considerable effort has been devoted to organizing the material, reducing unnecessary repetition, and presenting essential knowledge in one comprehensive volume.
The aim is not to reduce educational standards. Rather, it is to reduce unnecessary curriculum burden while preserving useful knowledge, practical skills, and important academic concepts.
GU intends to continue improving its textbooks through feedback from students, teachers, authors, and educational researchers.
4. Free Digital Textbook Distribution to Registered BBA Students
As part of its student-support initiative, GU plans to provide its specially prepared BBA Semester 1 textbook in digital PDF format free of charge to eligible students who complete their registration and admission requirements.
This would eliminate the need for registered students to purchase the core textbook separately.
Students could read the material on computers, tablets, and mobile phones, making learning more convenient and accessible.
The book may also be offered commercially to general readers who are not registered students.
GU hopes to develop similar comprehensive textbooks for subsequent semesters, subject to educational review and available resources.
Free textbook distribution is a separate benefit from the proposed educational fee-refund system.
5. BBA Admission: An Opportunity for Higher Secondary Graduates
Globe University’s proposed Bachelor of Business Administration program is designed for students who have completed higher secondary education.
Minimum educational qualification: FA, FSc, Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), Intermediate, or an equivalent qualification.
Program duration: Three years.
Total semesters: Six.
Mode of learning: Flexible online education supported by digital learning resources.
GU’s educational philosophy encourages learning without an unnecessary upper age limit.
Students, employed individuals, homemakers, and adults seeking additional business knowledge may benefit from this flexible approach.
GU is currently a developing educational initiative and is not presented as a government-recognized, degree-awarding university. Its proposed BBA credential should not be considered equivalent to an accredited university degree unless the required recognition is obtained.
6. Environmental Benefits: Protecting Nature Through Education
Environmental protection is another major objective of Globe University’s educational model.
Education should develop human knowledge without placing unnecessary pressure on natural resources.
Conventional educational arrangements often involve extensive transportation, printed materials, physical infrastructure, and energy consumption.
GU’s digital learning approach could reduce several of these environmental burdens.
Saving Paper and Forest Resources
Digital textbooks can reduce the demand for multiple printed books, photocopies, and supplementary materials.
By organizing five subjects into one comprehensive digital volume, GU aims to minimize unnecessary printing and paper consumption.
Reducing Transportation and Fuel Consumption
Students studying online may avoid daily journeys to educational institutions.
Reduced travel can save money, conserve fuel, and potentially lower transportation-related air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Reducing Infrastructure Requirements
Online education can reduce dependence on extensive classroom facilities, furniture, and other physical resources.
This may lower some construction, maintenance, and operating costs.
Reducing Educational Waste
Digital books can be revised and corrected without repeatedly printing entire new editions.
GU recognizes that digital devices, internet services, and data centers also consume energy and resources. Its environmental claims must therefore be evaluated realistically.
The objective is not merely digital education but education that uses natural resources more responsibly.
7. Artificial Intelligence as an Educational Assistant
Artificial intelligence offers important opportunities for improving education.
GU aims to use AI to help organize educational materials, simplify explanations, support independent study, and introduce students to practical applications of modern technology.
In business education, AI can support learning in accounting, marketing, management, human resources, communication, and entrepreneurship.
The BBA Semester 1 textbook includes practical discussions of AI in business administration to help students understand its growing importance.
However, GU believes that AI must support human learning rather than replace critical thinking, responsible judgment, and academic integrity.
Educational materials prepared with AI assistance should be carefully reviewed and improved through human expertise.
8. Saving Time and Reducing Family Expenses
The GU model aims to provide benefits beyond textbook savings.
Students who study online may reduce expenses associated with transportation, accommodation, printed materials, and other costs of attending physical institutions.
Flexible learning may also allow working people to continue their education while maintaining employment.
The proposed refund of educational fees after successful completion could further reduce the ultimate cost of education.
These benefits would depend on the student’s circumstances, the quality of program delivery, and successful implementation of GU’s financial model.
The larger objective is to make education less financially demanding and more compatible with everyday life.
9. Education Without Unnecessary Age and Geographical Barriers
GU believes that education should be accessible throughout life.
A person who could not continue studying at a younger age should have opportunities to acquire knowledge later.
Online education may help students in rural communities, working adults, women managing household responsibilities, and individuals living far from conventional educational institutions.
The goal is to expand access to practical knowledge and lifelong learning.
GU also recognizes that internet access, digital literacy, and suitable devices remain challenges that must be addressed.
10. A Research Experiment That Invites Public Participation
Globe University does not claim that every aspect of its proposed educational model has already been perfected.
Its approach is based on research, experimentation, continuous improvement, and public cooperation.
GU welcomes suggestions on reducing unnecessary curriculum content, improving textbooks, making education more practical, reducing environmental impacts, and developing a financially sustainable fee-refund system.
Teachers, students, economists, authors, technology professionals, and educational researchers are invited to contribute their ideas.
The GU model could become an example of how modern technology and responsible financial planning may support educational reform.
